Subject: 2.2 tid oil consumption

Dave g asked I have a MY2001 9-3 2.2tid 125bhp and before I got it I had heard about the erratic shall we say oil consumption on the diesel engines but between when we got it in September last year and the 18000 mile service in January it didn't use any oil even though the check oil flashed up on the SID once, but the check oil came on again last night and the level on the dipstick was just above the low mark, it was only serviced and obviously (I hope) had an oil and filter change on January 18th but is it anything I should be concerned about having used no oil in 4 months and now whatever the difference between full on the level and just above the low mark which I guess is about 1 litre or so in just 6 weeks? ta in advance Dave
