Subject: extended warrantee for 2000 9-5

I am consider buying an extended warrantee for my 2000 95 SE. I have heard and read on this NG that it is best to get a warrantee backed or approved by the SAAB dealer. I called the dealer and they gave me a quote from a 3rd party company (can't remember the name) that was their premier package. It was an exclusionary packet for 10 year/100,000 miles $0 deductible for about $3,500. My car currently has 35,000 miles. I have asked for a list of exclusions before I even consider this option. The salesman also said only about 1/3 of his customers who purchase Saab's buy the extended warrantee. I tend to keep cars for about 10-12 years. Hopefully this SAAB I will keep longer since I hope it is a higher quality car than my previous vehicles (hope, hope, hope). This package was the most expensive and I imagine there are other less costly options. But my question is for this NG, is an extended warrantee a good idea for this model and is this package too expensive? Thank you.
