Grunff - you are the Daddy :) That's really helpful. I'll pull the dash off again at the weekend and retro-fit the vent controller from the original dash. It went back on the new one more easily than it came off the original, so I think there must be something in that. Number 7 *must* be blocked and I have no doubt it's blocked on the new dash as well, but if it fits better on the original controller, that's what it'll have to be. Just for knowledge base, your information is great. It's good to know what's going on in there. The Saab vac powered vents are a source of amazement to colleagues and friends :) Thanks a million, Paul
