I don't know how much help I can offer, but I heard that there is a mechanical linkage that actuates the switch that sometimes wears out. Before you spend the $250 for a new switch, I recommend that you take off the steering column shroud too see if a repair can be made for less money -- or at least make sure that is the correct part. ...and if you could post your findings, that would be much appreciated.
