Where in Northern Germany. I lived in Hamburg (Norderstedt). If there is not much info, I'd remove it and go back to the OE filter. There is a good one available through AMSOIL, but it should take cartridges and not loose rolled paper. With regular oil changes and use of a Mann filter, these engines run over 200kmi regularly, so it sounds to me like a bit of fixing what is not broken.
