On Dutch roads this is a common sight (the speed, not the cars, with Maxima's being even rarer than Porsches). Despite the 120 km/h (= 75mph) speed limit, during commute the average speed is more like 80 mph, with the faster cars at 90+ mph not being exceptions. All the cars I have tried sofar were still handling well at 100 mph and over. I think the problem is not so much the speed, but the speed difference. Someone on the German autobahn at 100 mph can and will still expect faster traffic coming up on his tail, while the average driver in the US does not if he is doing 80 mph himself. Mark
