I've never heard of that, but you can take off the "cold" side plumbing (the ones you just checked for tightness) and turn it. Take off the one on the end, you'll see and/or feel the turbine in there. Car off, obviously...preferably cold, as the "cold side" isn't all that cold. You should be able to spin it freely with your fingertip, and it shouldn't make any scraping noises when you spin it. > any additional input would be appreciated. Anything rattling in your engine compartment? The knock sensor can see a rattle and think it's ping, backing your boost way down. Dave Hinz
