Grunff's info is correct. Keep in mind that a thermostat is a wear item. The coolant should ne changed at two year intervals. I change the thermostat when I change the coolant. This is probably overkill, but they are not that expensive. Saab thermostats are significantly different from most all others on the market. If it was replaced with a 'similar' one (same size std thermostat) and not an OE style one, the car may not warm up as fast either and it may cause it to run at a different temperature once warmed up. The coolant should be G48 (blue) or G05 (amber) and not the cheapest stuff you can get. In the US, the G05 may be available at some parts stores by now. I hear that Zerex has a mass market one and that AutoZone may carry it. I have not had much luck finding it and get it at the dealer (G05 -Mercedes Benz and G48 -Saab). Steer clear of the green stuff and especially the Dexcool orange stuff.
