I understand. But it is difficult when advice comes from different directions. Basically, I think that the garage I'm using is very competent, but the job can be difficult and there is a pressure to solve problems quickly. Once I had a difficult problem with hesitation and poor running. The mechanics were really scratching their heads as I came back several times, they seemed genuine embarrassed and didn't charge for the extended diagnostics. While I was waiting, the mechanic came to the waiting area and said they had to change the air mass meter. I thought that I had no choice and said OK, but the meter was costly. After some time he came back again and said they didn't have the part for my engine, only for the 2.3 and they had to order. Again I said OK do whatever. Then amazingly, he came back again and said it was all fixed, no new air mass meter was required. They had just cleaned the plug to to air mass meter. Naturally, I was pleased by their honesty, but it shows that the mechanics lot is not always a happy one. Johannes
