If I'm very wrong and the pre-OSX users did not leave Apple in droves (which seems unlikely), that would mean the Apple userbase has at least doubled since they introduced OSX. That would be a statistic Apple would plaster all over their ads. I never heard anything like that, ergo: I'm not *very* wrong... I agree, OSX appeal to Unix folks is definitely a factor, but I don't think it's had the effect of doubling Apple's sales. (yet) X.
