Especially driving backwards!! ;-) The fact that the CVT operates wihtout any gear-wheels caused the tranmission to have a funny feature: The DAF cars could reach the same speed in reverse as going forward. So in the 80's, when a lot of older used DAF's were available at low prices, a broadcasting company started organizing the infamous reversing races, in which old DAF's, with the windows taken out and equipped with a roll-cage competed in massive races, going backwards on a ralley-cross track. It was sensational TV and great fun, however partly caused the DAF's to have disappeared out tf the street.
