My LPG system doesn't need to emulate anything, because it has four injectors just like the fuel injection does. Technically the Vialle LPi system as used in my car is supposed to be the most technologically advances system available. Because it injects liquid LPG it doesn't even need an evaporator. Because the LPG actually evaporates in the intake manifold, it lowers the intake air temperature. This reduces the power loss, normally asociated with LPG cars, to virtually zero. Some cars are even reported to have gained power. >> Does the fuel consumption as displayed by the >> EDU make any sense at all in LPG mode? > > Yep, makes perfect sense. In my car the indicated figure is around 15% lower than the actual LPG consumption, which is exactly the fuel consumption the car would have had if running on petrol. Also the distance-to-empty function is absolutely useless while running on LPG. It couldn't even know because the petrol ECU doesn't even know it's actually controlling the LPG control box instead of the normal fuel system. > I don't measure that exactly. Fortunately my car goes a bit further on a tank. With my average of 10.8 l/100km my 48l tank gives me around 440km per filling. The better mileage is probably caused by a more advanced LPG system, because a 9-3 is bit lighter then a 9000 CS (1352 kg for my 9-3 to around 1470 kg for a 9000?) and, probably most important, a very relaxed driving style.
