Mostly - you don't know if you have a real lemon design with a really new model as they have no time in the field and there are a lot of folks for whom the hood should simply be welded shut between required warrantee service.. I would be less uptight if I got anything but advertorial from the Automobile Journalists Assoc. and they didn't change system and upgrade drive train designs so radically between years (and sometimes quarters).. It strikes me as kind of a MicroSoft approach - 'put it out there - fix problems as they come in'.. Indeed - I am starting to comment more and more that really they should put a sticker on that snazzy manifold shield they put in new machines these days that states clearly - "no user serviceable parts" - like my hi-fi equipment.. :/ .. Unfortunately - there is very little leeway once you sign a given lease to modify the deal so you can own a machine without a fairly hefty penalty.. I've looked into it every time I finally retire a car - but I can't seem to get a deal that makes sense over buying a good older model and picking up for repairs as I go along.. On the other hand - I don't mind if everything doesn't work perfectly and while I don't like it - I can live with occasionally shabby paint and interiors as long as the seat heaters work.. :) .. -- J Dexter - webmaster - http://www.dexterdyne.org/ all tunes - no cookies no subscription no weather no ads no news no phone in - RealAudio 8+ Required - all the Time Radio Free Dexterdyne Top Tune o'be-do-da-day Tim Tamashiro - Be My Lifes Companion http://www.dexterdyne.org/888/164.RAM
