Laura, Welcome to 9k ownership. I also have a '95CS, but mine had not seen a dealer in many years when I bought it and I had to fix a number of 'issues' to get it 'right'. It is a great car. Since you got yours from a dealer, make doubly sure that the heater core is not seeping/leaking. Start it up and let it idle for a while with the heat on MAX (at least one or 2 fan cycles) to make sure that the interior does not smell like coolant. (maple syrup smell) If it does, have the dealer replace the heater core. Also make sure that you change the coolant/service the cooling system every 2 years with proper coolant (Saab G48 - blue or Mercedes G05 spec coolant - not the green stuff!), do not let it overheat. The heater core can be an expensive repair and is fairly common on 9ks - especially ones which have not had their cooling systems regularly serviced. See this web site for other important info if you are interested. I love my 9k. One already saved my dad from possibly serious injury. http://quasimotors.com/ KeithG LauraK wrote: > I'd posted earlier when I was trying to decide between the 1995 and the 1997 > 9000 CS. > Went with the 1995 and paid cash. > Only problem is I'm in Knoxville, TN, and the Saab is in Nashville. > I went over in a rental car today (alternator on my car died Friday which is > why I got the rental originally) to test drive the 1995 and it was lovely.
