Richard, I have had the car only a few days yet and haven't had the opportunity to drive in the dark. Rain enough however, Holland is renowned for it, I believe ;-( Have read in the manual that, when you first activate the 'auto' setting, the system is supposed to do some kind of 'calibration', perhaps it tries to count the number of impacts per second on the glass or something like that. Maybe the response of the system depends on the circumstances at this calibration moment/period are responsible for the total behaviour of the system in the active period after calibration. Since the wheather is very cooperative at the moment (all kinds of rain one can imagine....) maybe I can figure out how this works.... When I find out something I will let you know...
