Subject: Re: Rainsensor on 9-3 sport sedan

Hello Tom, I've noticed the same thing with my 9-3 sport sedan. Setting the sensitivity to 'high' makes them go a bit silly, 'low' sends it to sleep, and 'medium' sometimes causes it to stop wiping in drizzle, or wipe continuously in little rain. Melbourne (Australia) is renowned for its wonderful weather (four seasons in one day kind of thing), so from Feb to November, rain is often on the agenda if the day of the week had a 'y' in it. In these cases, like you, I do a 'manual' wipe then put it back on to auto. I've left the setting under the profiler (SID) on medium. Incidentally, my last car, a Peugeot 306 xsi (sadly missed) had rain sensors and would do the same thing, it seemed to stop wiping when the car was stationary or under a certain speed, then go back to normal sensing when the car was moving. Perhaps it's similar with the SAAB - under a certain speed, the wipers slow down? I also find it works better at night for some reason... Cheers, Richard p.s. I know what you mean by the only thing not perfect - for me it's the quality of my window tinting!
