Subject: Re: 9-3

>I am considering buying a 2003 9-3. All the Saab owners I have spoken with >talk glowingly of their experience owning Saabs. Why then does J.D. Powers >give Saabs only an average rating ("the rest" on the 9-3 and "does not >really stand out" on the 9-5)? Aren't their ratings based on customer >responses? > What some owners call "trouble-free" others may feel are major problems. It depends on how your expectations going into the purchase. Powers, like consumer reports, also rates against other cars in the same class for the year. If you look at the JD Powers ratings for older Saabs (see http://www.edmunds.com) you'll see that Saabs ratings usually go up as the car gets older.
