If we are to assume this coolant leak involves the water pump, it may be no big deal at all. I've had the water pump off of my 1995 900S twice; the first time at 38,000 miles when the water pump pulley disintegrated (standard feature on the original water pump), and again at 88,000 miles to replace $3 worth of o-rings on an aluminum tube connecting the water pump to the engine block. The replacement pump, which is supposedly "improved", still looked fine so I did not replace it again. I am told the newer design pumps have a painted yellow dot on the pulley for identification. My 1995 is a 2.3L 4-cyl. non-turbo, 5-speed. You say this is a 900S, so I am assuming this is a 4-cylinder engine. A turbo, and/or a V-6, may make the job more difficult. BTW, I paid $130.00 in 1999 for the new water pump at my local Saab dealer. The vibration at idle, in gear, may not be all that unusual. I've yet to experience a 4-cylinder car with an automatic transmission that doesn't experience this to some degree, even when new. As the car ages, it only gets worse. Just how bad is the vibration? Often a tune-up can help, especially new plugs, rotor, & cap. Also, engine mounts are definitely suspect; i've heard they're not real cheap, and many people recommend you replace them all at the same time. (I believe there's three). You will probably find that having the a/c on makes the vibration worse. Alldata's website shows a recall for the water pump in 1997 and a Service Bulletin for "Engine-Vibration at Idle" in Oct 1995. http://www.alldata.com/TSB/52/95520903.html If the body is in good shape, you got an awesome deal on this car! My 1995 900S has 94,000 miles, in excellent condition, and I like to think I could still get around $5,000 for it. ;-) Good Luck, Jim "pietertje" <123dfryt676nopsamail.com> wrote in message news:bb4mtg$nqk$1nopsamer10.wxs.nl... > > "nospam" <nospamnopsamam.net> wrote in message > news:I8eBa.97760$VP.24772724nopsamter.neo.rr.com... > > Paul Mikulencak wrote: > > > > > First I would like to thank those who sent me the carfax! > > > > > > Second I went to test drive the 1995 900s automatic in question.
