Subject: Re: 1987 9000S Blowing ECM HELP!!!!

1.) I get 12V to ground at pin 85 while cranking and 12V to ground at pin 86 while cranking ... tested relay indepentantly and found it to work correctly but at crank relay will not come in. Jumpering it during crank also does not bring in the relay. 2.) If I jumper 30 (common) and 87 (NO contact) I can get the pump to run but even with pump running and engine cranking the car will not turn over whereas putting starting fluid in will start the car but will only run as long as there is ether. I have spark but seems like injectors are not functioning now either. As to how I am frying the circuit, the only thing I can think of is a direct short somewhere that I have not found. Have not had a chance to contact townsend motors yet but that is on my agenda (its been a very busy last few days). Been thinking of putting breakers on the wires and at least I would know where its causing a trip and maybe be able to isolate the problem but not sure what amperage to set it to avoid nuisance trips. Also as ECUs are quite expensive (and I think I blew 2 already), I have an ECU from an '87 9000 turbo and am wondering should I get the wires on breakers is it possible to use the turbo ECU for at least testing purposes or will I cause more problems than solutions. Hopefully townsend may have a copy of the electrical schemtaics for this model or maybe someone who sees it can get them to me.
