Subject: Re: Amazingly Quick Heater In My '87 9000

Thanks again for the advice. I had no idea that they designed the OEM thermostats differently. I wish that they would design the heaters in American cars like the Saab's because it can get cold in Wisconsin too ya know ; ) Mark "The 900 should have a similar setup; perhaps someone used a generic, not OEM thermostat, or maybe it was just broken. The c900's heater works in the same way he describes for the 9000, and is very quick to get warm. Indeed - I find my C900 heaters (on all 3 of my 900s) heat up even more quickly than the 9k (smaller matrix, less mass to heat up)." "As Dave says, if you use a generic thermostat, when it's closed, it won't allow flow to the matrix, so no heat. -- Grunff
