No.  Read his description.  He said "totally dead".

Sounds like the infamous bad key switch.  I had this happen on a '93.  It
seemed a bit heat related.  Try wiggling the crap out of the ignition key
area.  You can replace just the switch part of the ignition without having
to replace the key lock cylinder.
