Subject: ECU Flash Codes

Hi all, I have a '97 Saab 900S Talladega 2.3NA - ECU is a Motronic M2.10.3, also the car not OBD II compliant Australian Market - actually New Zealand. Haynes Manual page 4A.9 talks about getting the Flash Codes on 'Check Engine' indicator when monentary grounding pin 6 of the Diagnostic connector after the Ignition has been switched on. I do not get any flash codes - not that I'm expecting any faults as the car is running fine. According to Haynes I should get '12' - No Fault. I have been searching the www and found that Gunson make a Fault Finder that covers my model of Saab. Reading a Review they state anyone can use it as long as than can read its flashing red light. Does anyone know what I would have to do to get the codes from the ECU without spending heaps of money. Thanks - Martin Barnes
