Got the report today back from the Saab dealer.  They have had the head 
crack tested, pressure tested, valve tested and xray'd and are happy to 
fit it.

For me this is a major leap forwards as it means that my case for cost 
recovery against the garage that were unable to make it work will be 
much smoother than it otherwise might have been.
