Hi Dave, thanks for that, My Dad sold lots of brands it was long before things got serious I'm 44 years young and I'm pretty sure the air-cooled two stroke engine was in the back! My dad was also selling Scoda's at £400.oo ish a pop and I particularly remember the family meeting when we were considering a move abroad shortly after NSU brought out their imaginative rotary (Wankel)engine followed by Mazda's tri-hedral (?) effort and the workshop was full of returns cos it didn't work .It's not easy being this old...I had a Saturday job on the pumps. Fuel in the UK was 34p a gallon, I could never balance the petrol sheet cos I used to buy my Whizzer and Chips/Beano etc...out of the till. PS. in between I had to degrease new cars, What a childhood. Had it's upside though, I used to borrow brand new cars off the forecourt in the early hours pick my girlfriend up and take her for a spin, sometimes as far off as London (age xx) I was arranging the showroom at 13yrs old because my Mother by that time had knocked a petrol pump over and smashed the same showroom window twice!.Happy days, I still no nothing about Saab's though..! <davehinznopsamcop.net> wrote in message news:bddic7$ruv2r$3nopsam34476.news.dfncis.de... > Someone who looks an awful lot like brian rawsthorne <briannopsamthorne741.fsnet.co.uk> wrote: > > > I was playing with a new jack and accidentally jacked > > the engine out of the back of a brand new (sepia tone) rear engine Saab > > Your dad must have sold another brand of cars as well, because if the > engine was in the back, it wasn't a Saab. > > > I guess I'm happy to be alive because > > if I'd been in a Pug when I spilled on either occasion I would defiantly be > > road waffle.
