I have a 1995 9000 Aero auto First the headlamps would intermittently not switch on. I pulled out the headlamp relay and found cracked solder joints which I fixed. The headlamps now work fine. However occasionally when I switch them on the engine cuts out for half a second. And now......and I can't say it relates to the relay problem..........When I first start the engine the dashboard display (diagnostics, park break, speedo, etc) are iether blank or very dull. If I switch the headlamps on it suddenly returns to normal brightness and stays bright when I switch the headlamps off again. At one stage the "Check Engine" warning was on. I got half way to the Saab service shop and it went out. At the dealer when I restarted the car, the dash was again dull and the "Check Engine" was on. They replaced the relay. Then they connected the diagnostic computer and said it was the "oxy sensor" in the exhaust and it needed to be replaced. The dull dashboard lighting is persisting but no "Check Engine" warning and the headlights work fine, but seem to get the dashboard lights to brighten up again when I start the car after a rest. I don't want to replace the "oxy sensor" on the basis of their computer when there seems to be bizarre happenings and the sensor might actually be ok! Anybody have any thoughts? Pete
