Subject: Re: What car would you buy INSTEAD OF of a Saab???

As an aside, I remember reading that the 1994 9000 cs/cse's were among the safest, if not the safest, cars made in 1994.... As for the cars you listed, I have a 1992 900 & a 1986 300e. I love the saab and I'll never get rid of it. I need it for the snow and ski trips, but the e class is a totally different car. The straight six has power everywhere, unlike the 900, and it feels like a much more solid car, although I think they are around the same weight. I would reccomend the MB without a doubt. It also has a lot less body roll- I feel safer in it, doing about 10mph faster on the twisties of the Taconic parkway than I feel comfortable doing in the classic 900....
