Subject: Re: 1995 900se turbo convertible clutch cable. How to adjust?

Sounds similar to an experience that I had with my 97 900SE Turbo Convertable about 2 months ago. I pressed the clutch pedal, there was a noticable "pop", and the pedal went to the floor. The clutch would just barely disengage with the pedal on the floor and would re-engage at the slightest movement from the floor. The problem: There is a small plastic collar that mounts the clutch cable assembly to the transmission. This collar is part of the adjustment mechanism for the clutch. In my case, the collar broke. The net effect of this is to make the cable seem much longer than it is supposed to be. The collar can't be repaired so I had to have the whole clutch cable assembly replaced.
