Subject: Re: 85 900S Very Poor Acceleration (bucking)

Additional Info - A 8 valve (non-turbo) with mechanical injection and Bosch Hall-effect ignition system Have been using a set of solid coiled ignition wires with Bosch Platnium plugs rather the recomended NGK's as an experiment for about 3 years No problems noted. Checked the following so far: Gas Cap and Vacuum lines Inspected plugs, cap and rotor and wire resistance. Also checked for insulation break down. - No change in performance Before I got deeper into the troubleshooting I fuel up with the same 87 octane at a different Mobil station. Half tank to a fill up and added a can of dry gas/fuel conditioner. A desperate measure. Drove a few miles and the hesitation and bucking stopped. Ok - Did I dilute contaminated fuel or cool a failing fuel pump with a fill tank. Noted a better sounding pump. Because of being cooled or in a filled tank?. Thanks to all for the information. Problem may not be over yet. Will know more as the fuel level in the tank drops. Jim
