I don't know many people who'd want to fit a brand new turbo in an 8 year old car - doesn't make good sense. A rebuilt unit (from a reputable source) is as good as new, and will work fine. Since it sounds like you have a good relationship with your mechanic, why don't you just ask him straight out? -- Grunff
