Subject: Gearbox Malfunction on 2003 9-3

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0008_01C36A82.B7F9CCC0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hello, I bought a 2003 9-3 Linear about three weeks ago. Since that time, the = car has been in the shop three times to fix a rearview mirror (believe = it or not.) Today, we backed the car in the driveway, washed by hand, = and then when we tried to pull the car back into the garage, we received = the following warning message: "Gearbox malfunction Limited Performance Contact Saab dealer" Of course, today is Sunday and all of the dealers are closed. I tried = calling Saab customer service but it was also closed. Saab roadside = assistance could only tell me that the car should only be driven a few = miles and that I have to talk to the dealer. =20 I have two questions: (1) how serious can this "Gearbox malfunction" = error message be? and (2) is the Saab so unreliable? This is the first = Saab I have owned and I bought primarily because of it's safety = features. Now it seems to be really safe since it is spending most of = its time in the shop! Is this normal for a Saab? Thanks in advance --=20 Lucia and Brian Golchert bones717nopsaminet.net ------=_NextPart_000_0008_01C36A82.B7F9CCC0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2800.1106" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY style=3D"COLOR: #000000; FONT-FAMILY: Times New Roman" = bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV>Hello,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I bought a 2003 9-3 Linear about three weeks ago.  Since that = time,=20 the car has been in the shop three times to fix a rearview mirror = (believe it or=20 not.)  Today, we backed the car in the driveway, washed by hand, = and then=20 when we tried to pull the car back into the garage, we received the = following=20 warning message:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>"Gearbox malfunction</DIV> <DIV>Limited Performance</DIV> <DIV>Contact Saab dealer"</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Of course, today is Sunday and all of the dealers are closed.  = I tried=20 calling Saab customer service but it was also closed.  Saab = roadside=20 assistance could only tell me that the car should only be driven a few = miles and=20 that I have to talk to the dealer.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have two questions:  (1) how serious can this "Gearbox = malfunction"=20 error message be? and (2) is the Saab so unreliable?  This is the = first=20 Saab I have owned and I bought primarily because of it's safety = features.
