Hey, all: I finally realized a long-held dream and managed to get one of these animals via an Ebay auction from a Boston dealer - he had it as a trade. It seems to have been well-maintained at 130K miles. Everything seems to work perfectly, incl autoshifting and turbo. I drove the auto back across-country to the SF Bay area (about 3200 miles), and noted very few problems. Here are the ones that jump out at me: 1. On accel from a stop, I notice 'tapping' from the engine, starting at about the 2k tach range going on up until the shift into 2nd gear. The auto doesn't seem to be losing any power - it has plenty. Is it normal to hear this on an engine with this many miles? (BTW, has new motor mounts). The oil is still translucent, but it did seem to quiet down some when I put some 'Greased Lightning' lifter quieter in.... 2. Brake pedal pulse: At first quite noticeable, and somewhat an item of concern. Now, however, as I've driven the last couple of weeks, it has notedly gotten better. Don't know how long the car had been sitting (at least a couple of months). No engine/fluid leaks at all.... Can always use some comments and schooling from the sages out there...
