Great engine. Seems like it is the same model I had. Very strong and aggressive I you like to kick it. Runs straight up to 240 km/h, the boost is being cut off and then it deccelerates to 235 km/h. I had the following problems over those 6 years: - cylinder head gasket (was warranty; was more something like preventiv action) - several times overheat sensor of ACC-compressor defect; costs only a few bucks but it¥s hard to get there; my dealer did it always for free; - water pump leaks (~80.000km); needs to be replaced; seems to be a standard 900 problem - new front bearing (I was builiding a house an drove bad roads so I think it was my fault ;-o ) - the clutch problem I described before - to the end: one hose of the ACC broke (front-lowest area in the engine compartment; the plastic mounts from SAAB had no soft protection so some kind of linen or so could have prevent this) That¥s all I can remember. The rest was standard stuff (brakes, exhaust etc.). If you need more info I have to check my papers. One more tip: check the preowners if possible. My last two SAABs were used cars, about on year old. That¥s the reason why I did let change the head gasket as I started to get problems with lost water. I personally always drive my cars / motorcycles slowly warm (depending on the temp up to 20 km, max. 30% of max rpm) and had never problems with oil consumption or the main "mechanical part" of the engine.
