If the new gas cap doesn't resolve the problem, the old gas cap was probably OK (the new cap is likely to be OK too). You should check for a leak somewhere else in the system. Start by checking all the hose connections, particularly the ones associated with the vapor recovery canister. On my 9000, it is behind the right front fender liner, and one of the hoses was disconnected. I found this while I was doing another repair but if I had a newer model with a light such as yours, I'm sure this problem would have triggered the light. If you can't find anything, you might need to take it to the dealer. An interesting side note: I heard (and I don't know if it is true) that the tool used to find leaks in the air-conditioning system can also be used to find leaks in a petrol fuel system. Petrol vapors and A/C coolant vapors both contain hydrocarbons that the tool "sniffs" to identify a leak.
