It starts at first possible attempt when I turn the key and then runs smoothly until I tell it to stop. It doesn't get much maintenance these days other that the crucial oil changes, this is because I'm job hunting. Possibly this sounds smug and is not what you want to hear, but I just want to illustrate that a Saab 9000 can be extremely reliable. Seems that your car suffers from multiple system failure and you need to work systematically to eliminate the causes. First do the simple things. Check all the electrical connectors to the sensors. Saab engines are dependent on advanced complex control; without proper control the engine won't know what to do. I once had poor running simply due to the air mass meter electrical plug was oxidized. Since your car has been in the garage many times, I assume that they have checked any obvious mechanical and head gasket problems as well as the 'much loved' DI. Hence the error must be in the control system. Johannes http://sizefitter.com
