Hi Jules Never liked diesels. Never have....never will. I have a NG900 2.0 (non-turbo) and it is one of the most responsive engines I have driven. The Passat is a bit of barge when compared to the Saab. Can you not convert your Mum to a nice little Saab. On a point of info. the 9000 is one of my favourite Saabs. Happy Saabing.
