Well its not completely lengthwise, Boot floor would be left in tact ;-) If your going to do the whole thing in one go as opposed to cutting and welding in sections its easier to weld a frame up and bolt this to the suspension mounting points to make sure everything stays straight. In my dim and distant past I made an Escort Cosworth, from a Mk4 Scrote and a crashed 4X4 cossie (no it wasn't for me LOL) > > > > It'd be a bit more than 600 kilos LOL. > > Don't mean 900 based - I mean an open custom chassis type > arrangement. We did one based on an old Mk1 MR2 scrapheap challenge style. Rather easy as the MR2 has seperate front/rear subframes that carry suspension/engine/steering etc. > > My first one was A series engined, and that came in at ~ 400kg. From looking around crashed but straight'ish WRX's are about 1500quid. So its do-able for reasonable money. > > -- > Grunff >
