I agree with Dave Hinz about not overriding your ECU. The stock one, or the modified ECU will both serve the purpose of protecting your engine from detonation. A manual boost control is not adaptive to your environment (i.e. heat/cool, humidity, altitude, etc) and the setting you use with a MBC in one situation could be detrimental in another. On the other hand, I don't know about the '99 9-3's, but in the C900 the additional steps one might take are often related to fuel delivery. Increasing the pressure of the Fuel Pressure Regulator, larger injectors, higher pressure fuel pump, etc, all factored in could help produce more HP without removing the ECU from protecting your engine. (Also, in the C900 the Bosch Jetronic fuel system was tied in to the boost protection at an unnecessarily low pressure (approx 14-15 psi) and would cut the fuel at higher boost). nate_t_g 88 900 SPG 87 900 T16 "9-3*Turbo" <NOSPAMnospampam> wrote in message news:7Mnac.4522$pM1.1322nospamread06... > I bought the Abbott racing ecu and comes with a new waste capsule that > boosts my car 40+ horsepower.
