Uh... The fuel pump will strand you eventually. Rumor has it that filling up often may help. Is this a manual transmission? The synchro's need time to work, you should pause in neutral then shift. RedLine MTL in the gearbox might help... My '84 had a fair share of brake problems, maybe they fixed those by '85. Front suspension ball joints loosening up.
