I see lots of women driving convertibles, but with the tops up. I guess they do not want to mess up their hair too much. I don't understand what makes them want to get the ragtop to begin with. OTOH, when I see men driving one (if it isn't raining) they invariably have the top down. I am a fan of convertibles for tooling around town and such. I once owned a Mazda RX-7 convertible on which I never put the top up all summer. I'd just park it in the garage with it down and if it was a nice day, varoom!! On a modern SAAB convertible, it is a matter of 15 seconds of switch pressing from the driver's seat to put the top up or down. On my Jeep Wrangler it is about 5-10 minutes of struggling with zippers, manually erecting and folding of the frame, folding and unfolding the cloth top... But my Jeep still goes topless much more often than our (female) neighbor's 9-3 CV. Go figure... -Fred W
