Hi All, I have been lurking for a while, watching this group as I had had my eye on an ex-demo Saab 9-3 Sports Saloon 2.2 TiD and wanted to make sure that no-one was going to go "Oh gawld! Not one of those!!".. which no-one has! Anyway, I picked it up yesterday from Oxford Saab... heated seats, ES3-7 Satnav, Reverse Aid, Arm rest and the in-dash 6 CD changer... Just waiting for the dealer fit car phone to come on the market so I am hands free (not plugged into my earpiece) for phone calls and myself or colleagues can use the Bluetooth on my laptop to VPN into work (which sounds awfully geekish, but I am a geek by trade!) over GPRS. I have to say, I am a happy camper, and what it said on the wrapper it does! I have been driving a Chrysler Grand Voyager - which is a wonderful vehicle - however with the change of job I now have to drive 106 miles a day (roundtrip), and the 3.3 litre of the Chrysler was not going to go well on such a journey... i.e.: about £500 a month in fuel... On todays travels I reset the Average mpg as I left the M4, and cruised at 70mph from the M4 J8/9 to M40 J9 and onto home and got a very respectable 50.5mpg! That and the state of the fuel tank / D.T.E. (taken with a pinch of salt until I know how accurate it is) works out to about one tank of fuel a week for my travelling, in comparison to two and a bit in the Chrysler Voyager... OK, different beasts, but refreshing to know I am back in the world of economic driving and the car has met my expectations! Pretty damn cool...
