In article <BD44EE99.10EE5%pjghnospamyonder.co.uk>, pjghnospamyonder.co.uk spouted forth into alt.autos.saab... > We do have a Punto Sporting, which is actually a very fun > car. You can slide it with yer bum :) > Well, I passed in a Punto Diesel (not turbo diesel, just plain diesel). I thought it was fantastic, bearing in mind I was getting extra practice in my then Skoda Estelle 120L. In comparison, the Punto was amazing, first time in all the time I had driven in L plates, for power steering, 5 gears, tinted (factory tints, not Nova Neds), front wheel drive, and only the second servo assisted braked vehicle I had driven (my Skoda was the other). But previous learning experience was limited to a Relian Robn supervan, and a Bedford HA Viva (ex GPO) van that was my brothers vehicle after he passed (2 years younger, but passed 10 years before me). Then after passing, had the Estelle for about 8 months (similar winter experience to the Saab, built for cold weather so all the engine weight right over the rear wheels for maximum traction), then the Favorit for about a year (really boring to drive even with dropped suspension, and slightly weight relieved), and not that comfortable after I added bucket seats to save weight and go with the motorsport shocks and springs I fitted, then the Saab for the last 18 months. -- Carl Robson (The poster formerly known as Skodapilot) http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
