Subject: [Saab_c900] successfully replaced brake master cylinder + bled brakes today!

Hi everyone, Many of might have already reached this 'milestone', but today I tackled something I haven't ever considered doing before which was diagnosing properly a fault with the brake master cylinder on my 1985 900i, replacing the faulty unit with a brand new one, and bleeding the brakes using a Gunson 'Eezi-bleed' kit! For the first time since I bought the car a year ago, the brakes are finally working properly and even though the vacuum problem affecting the engine idle speed still exists, the brakes now respond properly. The old fluid which came out of the brake lines was very yukk. It appeared to be very old and was quite contaminated. I've totally replaced the fluid with brand-new DOT-4 fluid and will be documenting what I've done at: http://nospam/~c900/brakemaster.html as I transfer over some pictures I took of various stages in the process. I'll talk about some things I noticed when using the Gunson 'Eezi-bleed' brake bleeding kit too.
