Actually I don't recall ever seeing the octane levels change around here. But our winters (in Colorado but not in the mountains) are a lot milder than yours. In any case, I'll do both the high- & low-speed tests at about the same time, probably on the same tank like I did last week, so the gas formulation shouldn't be an issue. Gary
