I use a cupholder to enable me to keep both hands on the wheel as I bring a drink back to work safely in a cupholder. No drinking is done while driving. That is only done before or after the auto trip. How would I do that if I didn't have a cupholder? Buying overpriced drinks I don't care for from the company vending machine is not a good alternative. I also carry my mobile phone with me in the car. I don't use that while driving either. Some people install a special holder in their cars for their phones. ...just another opinion and point of view.
