Subject: Re: What's acceptable mileage on used 900

More information would help. Showing my bias, earned the hard (expensive) way - keep away from a 900 convertible newer than a 1994. The NG or GM Saabs have earned a reputation for having problems with GM parts (most of the elctrical stuff). The GM V6 is a horrible engine - learned personally the hard, expensive way. The automatic in the GM 900 has a history of expensive electrical problems - no suprise here. Also, as expected, the convertible is not as solid as the sedan. The Classic 900 convertible has a much more reliable engine and transmission. Test drive the car with the top up as well as down. I found the visibility is great with the top down. The tiny (compared to a hatchback) rear window results in poor visibility out the back.
