Subject: C900 pinion bearings
So I'm beginning to think the easiest thing for me to do will be to grab
a used transmission from a wrecker and perform at least a partial
rebuild on it before sticking it in the car. Is there any way for me to
assess the condition of the pinion bearings (or rather check for damage
caused by them failing) before I get the thing out of the wreck? There's
a couple of C900s there right now which have straight bodies and no rust
so that always kinda makes me wonder. I don't wanna go through the
trouble of removal only to discover that the one I yank is not rebuildable.
