In the UK many places only sell 95 RON ( e.g. supermarkets ) with an alternative 'superunleaded' being 97-98. 95 is fine for most cars but some perfromance vehicles get some extra performance from 97/98. I'm puzzled by your suggestion that 96RON = 89PON. This table suggest more like 92PON. http://www.btinternet.com/~madmole/Reference/RONMONPON.html That also makes 95RON ( which I normally buy ) equal to 91PON which makes sense to me for use in a Saab.
