Purchased a 95 Saab 900 for my daughter. Had it checked out by a mechanic. 2 months later, car will not go into reverse. Other gears work fine. Mechanics have not looked at the car but give $2-3000 extimates. I know they want to make money but I have heard many horror stories about transmission repairs. Are there any quick fixes to look for? Will it give a code number? How about transmission computer? External adjustments? Anything worth trying before ripping it apart? And something that has bothered me.....did previous owner do something to hide the problem? thanks Phil in Miami
