It's all electrical, no cables that I know of. The gauges do sometimes go bad. But, if the odometer has gone out too, check the fuses. The next thing to check is the connector at the speedo, but you have to pull the dash to do it. That's a long job. Might be time to purchase a Haynes manual. See Amazon.com.
