Subject: 88 SAAB 900 Battery Drain problem
I am reaching out for some ideas on a problem I have. I am on my
second battery with same problem. Jump in the 900 after a long
weekend with a near dead battery. Luckily I brought my battery back
to the place I purchased to find that the battery is still good. (I
wish I had done that with the old one). The auto parts place was
quick to say it is a charging problem with the alternator. I do not
think that is the best assumption. I started the car, took the
negative cable off to find the car running fine. I would have
expected the car to die or at least work as if it had some sort of
power problem. I suspect some sort of drain as if I had left my
lights on.
So my question is from Saab drivers if they know of something that is
failing which drains the battery with the power off. Thanks.
